A WEEK IN SKINCARE (PART TWO)

If you’ve been following my blog for a really, really long time (hats off to you, what a trooper!) you’ll know I did a post just like this last year, and have been meaning to do a part two ever since. It was probably one of my favourite posts ever to come up with and create, & perhaps the only original post idea I’ve ever come up with! (or at least I hope it was..)
Read the first part here, you can see how much my skincare has changed, rather dramatically actually, with nothing surviving a year of use on my face except my one true love, the Elemental Herbology Moisture Milk.
Since last year I’ve taken a completely green approach to beauty, switching everything in my stash to cleaner products, and I’m a lot happier because of it. This routine was written down 3 weeks ago now, a few things have changed since, running out of samples and introducing a new serum… but for the most part I have been sticking to this routine.

Monday
AM:
S5 Neutralise Cleanser*, Therapi Lemon Myrtle Toner*, Pai Combination Skin Cream.
PM: Suki Cleansing Balm, Therapi Lemon Myrtle Cleanser*, S.W. Basics Toner, S5 Purity Serum*, Pai Combination Skin Cream.

I remember I had a good skin week this particular week so I was quite pleased with myself, I didn’t want to overload my skin and kept things simple while cautiously introducing the Therapi range into my routine to test.

Tuesday
AM
: S5 Neutralise Cleanser, Therapi Toner, S5 Balancing Fluid*
PM: Melvita Micellar Water*, May Lindstrom Skin The Clean Dirt, S.W. Basics Toner, May Lindstrom Youth Dew Sample

I had a cheeky May Lindstrom Delivery on Tuesday along with some samples I was excited to try from Content, I’d sold half of my belongings on ebay and was feeling flush at the time, so of course May Lindstrom helped me rectify that feeling asap.

Wednesday
AM
: S5 Neutralise, Therapi Toner, Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Serum*, Pai moisturiser.
PM: Melvita Micellar Water, ML The Clean Dirt, S.W. Basics Toner, Dr. Alkaitis Soothing Gel Sample, Kahina Eye Serum*, S5 Balance Fluid.

One thing I have noticed from this skincare diary is that I clearly am terrible with eyecream, I apply it twice in seven days! Must make a habit to sort that out!

Thursday
AM
: S5 Neutralise, Therapi Toner, May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon sample, S5 Balance Fluid
PM: Melvita Water, REN Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser + Clarisonic, Omorovicza Deep

Cleansing Clay mask, May Lindstrom Youth Dew

I had been too lazy/tired to do my weekly face mask on Wednesday so dug around to find something to use on this day instead. I found a little sample pot of the Omorvicza Mask that had one good use left so I used it all up there and then. I can’t believe how expensive this face mask is, such a crazy price for an average formula and a tiny amount (50ml) in comparison to something like May Lindstrom’s The Problem Solver where you get 200ml of product for just a few more pennies.
Friday
AM: Therapi Lemon Myrtle Cleanser, S.W. Basics Toner, Herbfarmacy Eye Cream, Pai Moisturiser.
PM: Melvita Milky Cleansing Oil, ML The Clean Dirt, Elemental Herbology Cell Food, S5 Balance Fluid.
I’m shocked I haven’t mentioned the S.W. Basics Toner yet, I’ve had if for ages and love it! yes it does smell slightly of vinegar but I’m over that now and it works a treat on blemishes. Another standout is the Melvita Milky Cleansing oil, I reserve this for heavier makeup days but wow is it awesome, it removes everything and then washes away in seconds. No mess, no fuss.

Saturday
AM
: S5 Neutralise, Therapi Toner, S5 Balance Fluid
PM: Weleda Almond Soothing Cleanser x2, ML Blue Cocoon & MV Soothing Rose Moisturiser (sample pots)

I think I was away from home for this night, so only took the bare minimum with sample pots and my trusty Weleda cleanser, I have reserved this for travelling as it’s so portable in a small metal tube and it removes makeup really well (though I always double cleanse).

Sunday

AM: Weleda Almond Cleanser, Dr. Alkaitis Soothing Gel, MV Soothing Rose Moisturiser.
PM: Melvita Micellar Water, REN Clearcalm + Clarisonic, REN Glycolactic Mask, Kahina Argan Oil*, Pai Moisturiser

Finally the last day! I think I went a little overboard using my clarisonic AND an exfoliating mask but I’m trying to keep on top of milia! my skin enemy. I think I am genetically prone to them because there is no other reason I can think of for why I get them, I exfoliate very regularly and never use pore clogging ingredients!

And that was my week in skincare! It seems like a lot but it’s really just cleanse, tone and moisturise with a serum or treatment product thrown in for good measure when I remember. Hopefully this can help some of you stuck with trying to figure out a routine, or give you a kick up the bum to sort your self that routine out.

I also want to say that a few of these are PR samples but it never has and never will effect my opinion on the product, I always test thoroughly and give an honest review no matter what. It can take months, especially when it’s skincare for me to make my mind up on a product which is why they’re not always on the blog as soon as I receive them.
Also, I’m sorry I haven’t linked to everything today, but I was not ready to tackle that mammoth task at ALL. Yikes. What do you think of my skincare diary, is this something you would do to? (make sure to tweet me if you blog about it!)
